1. How long have you been working with Perigord?
14 years next year (I don’t like using the number 13!)
I remember my first interview. Alan met me at the door and made me follow him up the stairs bypassing the lift, seemingly not noticing my unique walk. This was a refreshing change for 2007 and not the norm. I knew then, as I went up the stairs (sideways) answering Alans questions, that Perigord, was the forward thinking diverse company, I had been looking for. Another time I’ll tell you about my 2nd interview with Michael. 😊
2. What is your role at Perigord?
Programme Manager
3. How would you describe your role here in Perigord?
Busy, hectic and ever-changing. I can either be meeting with my global team, working on improvement plans, working with my team experts on specific projects, or reviewing and analysing KPI data and understanding trends on where we stand. Within my role I also work directly with multiple key accounts, assisting clients with concerns and managing their expectations. It’s my responsibility to ensure we align to quality agreements and identify client challenges that Team Perigord can help resolve.
4. What is your proudest accomplishment?
When team members excel and gain recognition or promotions, I feel like a proud father waving off my work child to big school!!! I don’t accomplish anything without my very strong global team behind me.
Our team was one of the first, building into our global network and has grown to one of the largest multi-functional global teams in Perigord, something the entire team is proud of and plays a big part in. I recall our first four Indian team members arriving in the Dublin office… how we have grown since then.
5. COVID 19 has meant significant change to the way we live. What has been the biggest challenge for you during this pandemic? Have you taken up any new hobbies or interests?
Biggest challenge is logging off at 4:30 pm.
My first new hobby was to eat more, quickly followed by a diet as clothes didn’t fit anymore.😒
6. What is the one thing you are most looking forward to once this pandemic has ended?
Less online meetings and chatting with the team and clients face-to-face.
Getting on a plane to anywhere.
Getting my cleaner back, my COVID wife has been a challenge!
7. Tell us about something recently, that made you laugh?
My COVID wife telling me the kitchen floor was clean. 😊
Any Donald Trump news conference.
8. Can you tell us a little about where you grew up?
I’m a farmer’s son from Mayo, it was all quite normal country living, everybody knows everybody and its full of gossips. As a Mayo man and GAA fan we don’t discuss football anymore as I have attended 9 All Ireland Final losses.
9. What is your go to comfort food and do you have a favourite restaurant?
Tayto Cheese and Onion but now since forced to diet it's lettuce.
10. If you could only have three apps on your smartphone, which would you pick?
I’m too old for all this tech stuff, sadly I just checked my phone and top apps used is my work Outlook, followed by Microsoft Teams.
11. We're all missing live music, tell us what music you enjoy and your best concert memories?
Well my funeral song will be Celebrate (this party’s over) by Jerry Fish.
Best Concert was Bon Jovi, Lansdowne Road, in a thunder and lightning storm.
Best Session was a lock-in at McDaids Pub with Ronnie Drew, where he told me nobody had ever butchered his songs better than me… a compliment indeed from a legend.
