1. How long have you been working with Perigord?
6 months so far but definitely not counting. 😊
2. What were your first impressions of the company?
Very friendly people, family orientated. Relaxed atmosphere but with a strong work ethic and driven for results.
3. What is your role at Perigord?
Financial Accountant for Perigord Data Solutions Limited
4. What does a typical day look like for you?
7am start to get my daughter ready for school, get dressed, make lunch and drop her over to the child minder and then off to work. Work for 8.30am with scheduled tasks first thing every morning. Receive daily slagging about Manchester United’s current table standings and inconsistent performances. Breakfast for 10am. The days can be extremely varied then. Sometimes the day can be spent on budget packs or month end packs or year-end audits (everyone loves a good year end audit!), raising invoices, getting travel recharges billed to customers etc.
I normally try to finish at 5pm to get home for 6 and get stuck into homework, getting dinner ready and then out for some exercise. Get to bed later than I should and then start again...
5.. What do you like most about your job?
First, there is a great Finance team in Perigord, genuinely enjoy going into the office. Learning from colleagues about what role they play and the challenges they face. Learning about the pharmaceutical industry, what we do at Perigord and how that translates into a Finance perspective. No two days are quite the same which keeps it interesting.
6. COVID-19 has impacted how companies globally are operating. How has Perigord and your team adapted to the changing working environment?
Our team seamlessly changed to working from home and currently have daily conference/zoom calls to keep in touch and share our planned activities with each other. I believe there to be minimal disruption to the Finance operation as a whole and believe we all can learn some valuable lessons about working from home when the pandemic is over. Perigord as a company has acted very responsibly with most staff now working from home. A big thanks to all the IT guys who appeared to get this done with little fuss.
7. What is your proudest moment so far at Perigord?
Standing in for Santa at our secret Santa Christmas party when he was otherwise busy. 😊
8. What is your favourite song?
” Rain” by The Cult played as loud as my neighbours allow!
9. Your top 3 favourite Podcasts/Books?
No favourites really as I don’t get much time to read but do like books by Harlan Coben or James Patterson.
10. Do you have any interests or hobbies?
Five a-side soccer, running, cycling and golf.
11. What’s your favourite sport to watch and which team do you support?
Rugby for me and Leinster as my preferred team but I will watch all rugby when I get the chance.
12. What’s your favourite TV show—the one you’re always watching on repeat?
Loved “Breaking Bad” and “Game of Thrones” and thought the comedy series “Scrubs” was brilliant when it aired.
13. What is the best concert or show you ever attended?
I am not much of a concert goer but went to see “Phantom of the Opera” in New York, years ago and that stands out in my memory. Such a varied crowd from all different backgrounds brought together by a classic.
